Brown Bededger Verus Turfco Kiscutter - Which Should You Choose? |

| One of the biggest questions with regards to sod removal is what is the best tool to use? My answer has been the same for years: The Brown Bededger (Bededger) walks backwards and handles contours wonderfully while sculpting the perfect trench. The Turfco Kiscutter (Kiscutter) walks forward and also handles contours wonderfully while sculpting the perfect trench. Yes, it is a personal preference. However, there are a couple of things worth noting that may help in your decision. The Bededger tends to work better in a more sandy soil. The harder clay has a tendency to fight the machine a bit more while sending any small stones flying through the air. The Kiscutter tends to work better with clay. The softer sandy soil will have a tendency to bog down the machine with clumpy sections of sod. The easy way I suggest to people is to make your decision on your predominant soil type. If you have both soil types and want the benefits of both, you will find the Bededger as the perfect tool for around mulch beds and the Kiscutter for around stone beds.
