| “Now, I’m about to end this letter, and you will remember all these things. Our adventures are not at an end; they are just continuing. Although we can never be apart, you will perceive me in different ways at different times. Always, I Am. Forever, You Are. Together, everything is possible. Remember that I am with you always. My beloved child, I have loved you with an everlasting love.” At the bottom, it was simply signed, “Your God.” I looked up from the letter and observed how quiet and peaceful everything was around me. A breeze started blowing, gently at first and then increasing in intensity. As I replaced the letter in its envelope, a single gust of wind, mightier than the others, whisked it from my hands. In vain I made a desperate effort to recover it, but it was too late. It spiraled a few feet above my head, then floated higher and higher, way above the trees. I strained to see it as it disappeared from sight altogether. Gideon and Marla stood up. He threw his arm around my shoulder while she held my hand and said, “We love you, John. All is well. We’ll see you soon.” They walked down the stairs, waving as they left, and before I could blink, they were gone. For a while, I sat absorbed in the silence of the moment — a moment that seemed to stretch for all eternity. There is an overwhelming peace within me now. There is also the stirring of a mighty wind that blows across my soul. Like you, I am a part of All That Is and All is a part of me. I know that my work with Gideon, Marla and others, my quiet times with God, my love for my children, my memory of Mardai and my growing into a better me will continue forever. Just as your journey home continues, so will mine. I know that I will see my friends and loved ones again and again. Content with that thought, I went back into the house and poured myself another cup of coffee. To read the rest of the story visit http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com |
